work it vs livin proof

flyerAs we approach a new decade, the current wave of retro cool begins to slowly flow from the current hipster fascination with the 80s to the much harder to define period of the 90s. No complaints from coolography, though; as 80’s babies we grew up predominantly in the nineties.

Musically, two London nights spearheading the revival of the pre-millenial decade are the Dalston based Work It, and Hip-Hop specialists Livin Proof. A stunning experience, visually and aurally, the POV sequence has the viewer ducking and diving amongst a range of iconic instruments of war. Simple yet massively detailed.

The Reset - Flyer

When coolography first got word of a UK streetwear market setting up shop this past bank holiday weekend, attendance was undeniably compulsory. Held at the Nike 1948 store in London’s hipster haven Shoreditch, the weekend ‘Reset’ was a chance to organize and fight back against the doom and gloom of the recession. Amongst economic downturns we often seen creative upturns, and none more so evident than in this celebration of UK talent and creativity… continue reading »

One of the most beautifully elegant user interfaces coolography has seen in a long time: The website for Diller Scofido + Renfro. Designed by Pentagram’s Lisa Strausfeld, the design takes and refines the oft abused 3D landscape technique to project the New York based architecture firm’s past projects on an easily navigable plane…
