clae fall/winter 09
Posted on: 7 September 2009
There was a point where coolography, in the folly of their youth, vowed to always rock their footwear hard, no matter the style, colour, fit – we were gonna represent with crazy colourways, mad materials, and of course, pairs obtained through limited lines. Fast forward a few years, and, well, coolography’s getting old. Neon nylon hi-tops, patent watermelon, shy pink ostrich skin… all have slowly dropped out of the regular rotation, in favour of more subtle, classic styles. Although not quite shedding the swoosh for the wingtips just yet, coolography is finding a compromise in a multitude of footwear bridging the gap between trainers and shoes. Clae is a case in point…
With original silhouettes and a solid, quality look and feel, much of Clae’s offerings blend the comfort and technology of athletic footwear with a more mature, traditionally inspired style. Clae’s fall/winter 2009 collection seems to be one of its most comprehensive, with styles old and new available in a number of materials and colours. Coolography favourites include the Khan, McQueen, and the charcoal wool Russell, perfect for the upcoming season.
