10/GUI multitouch system

Posted on: 14 October 2009

coolography recently stumbled across this video, outlining a revolutionary new concept for a true multi-touch user interface system. Named 10/GUI, the system approaches the use of multitouch technology from the ground up, presenting a truly innovative way to communicate with your computer. Proposed by designer R. Clayton Miller, the 10/GUI system utilises the full range of 10 fingers on a dedicated trackpad area, allowing for fluid, flexible and intuitive information manipulation that is unavailable to us with the simple point-and-click nature of the humble mouse.

Take the time to watch the video – it is a likely glimpse in to how we will all be using computers in the near future.

Though ‘99p’ flakes and creamy twisters are comforting throwbacks to yesteryear, coolography naturally gravitates to more innovative and luxurious offerings. In recent months there has been a noticeable trend manifesting for frozen treats in the capital; Frae, Freggo, Snog – all are pleasant enough, but none caught our collective interest more than the curiously named Icecreamists. A new conceptual ice cream brand, the Icecreamists have set up a luxury boutique in the Ultralounge of longstanding department store Selfridges. Promising to “liberate Londoners from ‘ordinary ice cream,’” we were intrigued by the Icecreamists’ unabashed focus on decadence and luxury.
