We love a good panorama. And they don’t get much better than this. Currently, the world’s largest spherical panorama photo, 360cities have captured spectacular views of the Prague skyline. Shot from the top of the Prague TV Tower, the 3d scene simultaneously achieves a high vantage point and also a convenient omission of the city’s controversial eyesore. Shot with a canon 5d mark 2, hundreds of photos were stitched together to produce a final 18 gigapixel image – enough to make any other camera bleed with inadequacy, and with a zoom level that even makes CSI believable. Screenshots of course do it no justice, just have a look for yourselves.

It’s a spherical panorama. Why not display it properly so viewers can pan and zoom around?
Here’s a cool (but not spherical) panorama of Cape Town, 1.1 gigapixels: you can zoom and pan around, and it loads quickly despite the size because only the parts you need are downloaded:
