ajanaku presents stepping stones

Posted on: 19 January 2010

Our good friends over at  AJANAKU are throwing a massive event at the end of the month – as well as being cool, and a fine excuse to party,  the night has the added benefit of raising money for a good cause – Stepping Stones Nigeria – which aims to support and provide education to abandoned and exploited chilkdren in the Niger Delta.

Though we’re gutted we can’t make it (uncharacteristically uncool, we know) – for all our Dutch readers here’s a few more reasons to show your support:

“Free Jameson whisky, Kern Koppen, Lottery, Abstract, Crazy, Stepping Stones, Dirty Priest, 3 Floors, Creative Recreation VIP Room, Garcons Comme d’Hommes, Free Bubbles, Illesta & Clean-Cut, Seven, 2×1 citizenM Nights, Jan Aafoe & Roman Holiday, Menco Nieuwehuis, Collaborations, Mr. Tree, Mike Latina, Creative, 2x Pair of Creative Recreation, Exclusive, Smith Davis, Beats, Pimptendo, and Much More……”

As the UK’s most eminent and respected institution in all things sneaker related, Crooked Tongues are perennially on coolography’s radar, whether for their jaw dropping trainer collaborations, the ’show love and drop knowledge’ ethos of their forums, or for, as you shall soon see, their legendary annual BBQs . Following 2007’s brief foreign exchange in Bangkok, Thailand, and a sadly cancelled edition in Munich last year, the Crooked Tongues BBQ was coming back in style for their home base in London town. Whilst our attendance was guaranteed come rain or shine, promises of free BBQ, alcohol, music, and a crowd consisting of the most devoted sneakerheads meant our RSVP made its way to crooked towers with breakneck speed. Blessed with a sunny day, coolography rocked on down to shoreditch, ready to eat meat with heat on our feet… continue reading »

michael jackson’s private arcade

coolography is still reeling from the King of Pop’s sudden passing, but we steadfastly aim to separate the man from the music amidst the flurry of tributes, insults, and media mongering. Undoubtedly a gifted musician, Jackson’s personal life was nonetheless mired in controversy, rumours, and still holds a macabre place in the public eye. Sadly, this perception is unlikely to change as further details of his life come under even more scrutiny. Jackon’s notoriously prolific spending, in particular, was a fascination for most. With the near majority of his neverland estate up for sale by auction house Julien’s, the public can now see the full extent of his eccentricity. Of particular interest to coolography is Jackson’s extensive arcade entertainment collection. Spanning many decades, genres, and varying degrees of absurdity, the collection has to be seen to be believed… continue reading »
