prague 360

Posted on: 20 December 2009

We love a good panorama. And they don’t get much better than this. Currently, the world’s largest spherical panorama photo, 360cities have captured spectacular views of  the Prague skyline. Shot from the top of the Prague TV Tower, the 3d scene simultaneously achieves a high vantage point and also a convenient omission of the city’s controversial eyesore. Shot with a canon 5d mark 2, hundreds of photos were stitched together to produce a final 18 gigapixel image – enough to make any other camera bleed with inadequacy, and with a zoom level that even makes CSI believable. Screenshots of course do it no justice, just have a look for yourselves.

10/GUI multitouch system

Posted on: 14 October 2009

coolography recently stumbled across this video, outlining a revolutionary new concept for a true multi-touch user interface system. Named 10/GUI, the system approaches the use of multitouch technology from the ground up, presenting a truly innovative way to communicate with your computer. Proposed by designer R. Clayton Miller, the 10/GUI system utilises the full range of 10 fingers on a dedicated trackpad area, allowing for fluid, flexible and intuitive information manipulation that is unavailable to us with the simple point-and-click nature of the humble mouse.

Take the time to watch the video – it is a likely glimpse in to how we will all be using computers in the near future.

Sony’s digital compact cameras are without a doubt some of the most stylish, and though we loathe to use the word, sexiest, around. The T series, in particular, is coolography’s favoured range, having gone through several lifetimes worth of use from the T1, the T9 and coolography’s current model du jour, the T700. When not used to help adorn the odd coolography article, the camera is an indispensable tool for social occasions, frequently documenting all minor and major events. For those who often find themselves as photographer, yet lack appearances of their own in photo albums, however, Sony’s new Party Shot may have a solution… continue reading »

The iPhone doesn’t really need a case, despite what accessory companies would love for you to believe, but this retro gameboy style backing is neccessity personified.

iphone keyboard dock 5

Gizmodo’s Jesus Diaz has just posted up an innovative concept for an integrated keyboard/iPhone dock for macs. The right panel of the current mac keyboard, normally reserved for a keypad input, is instead replaced with an inlaid panel in which an iPhone can sit, charge, and be used as an extended touch screen interface. Although similar in concept to the detachable keypad/remote concept of the high-end Logitech DiNovo series, and also the recently unveiled Asus Eee integrated keyboard/PC, the possibilities available with the combined touch interface, app integration, and secondary display capabilities are somewhat endless.
