Now some things are just silly, and some things are just cool. These strike us as a whimsical combination of the two. German based designers Chris&Ruby sought to attach some personality to the humble chair via means of specially knitted socks. Always felt that your desk chair was a bit masculine? Continuing the trend of high end designers collaborating with high street fashion, and following on from their own Designer’s Invitation projects, Uniqlo have released the first few teaser images of their new autumn collection with famed German minimalist designer Jil Sander. Though founder of the eponymous fashion house, Jil Sander has been completely uninvolved in its operations since 2004, instead withdrawing from the fashion world until earlier this year where she announced the formation of her own fashion consultancy. With Uniqlo being the first client, the fruit of this relationship is the Uniqlo sub brand +J, which takes the Jil Sander design influence to both menswear and womenswear, with most items sitting comfortably in the sub £100 range. continue reading »
