Brand Jordan have put up a cool interactive feature timeline of their most iconic range of trainers, the air Jordan. Starting from the very first, nike branded incarnation, the interactive slide show works in a popup book style right up to present day, dealing with the history, design inspirations, and the associated sporting achievements that have made the humble shoe so famous. Though most of the notable factoids involve and surround the legend Michael Jordan himself, there are also cool tidbits that delve into the thinking behind the shoe, and throwbacks into the advertising of the brand. The coolest aspect for us, however, is the subtle monotone renderings of the jordan shoes themselves; we would kill to have a few of the classic silhouttes in such pristine colourways… continue reading »

The Nike 1948 store, located in the arches of Bateman’s Row, Shoreditch, recently underwent a small makeover by Finnish artist Kustaa Saksi. With a vivid, retro pop aesthetic, the installation perfectly represents the blend of modern heritage so closely associated with the Nike Sportswear brand. Amongst Python-esque appendages rising above multicolour cityscapes and VW vans on cardboard cutout vacation, we particular admire Saksi’s illustrative takes on the differences between men’s and women’s footwear needs. continue reading »

As the UK’s most eminent and respected institution in all things sneaker related, Crooked Tongues are perennially on coolography’s radar, whether for their jaw dropping trainer collaborations, the ’show love and drop knowledge’ ethos of their forums, or for, as you shall soon see, their legendary annual BBQs . Following 2007’s brief foreign exchange in Bangkok, Thailand, and a sadly cancelled edition in Munich last year, the Crooked Tongues BBQ was coming back in style for their home base in London town. Whilst our attendance was guaranteed come rain or shine, promises of free BBQ, alcohol, music, and a crowd consisting of the most devoted sneakerheads meant our RSVP made its way to crooked towers with breakneck speed. Blessed with a sunny day, coolography rocked on down to shoreditch, ready to eat meat with heat on our feet… continue reading »

When coolography first got word of a UK streetwear market setting up shop this past bank holiday weekend, attendance was undeniably compulsory.
